About Us
Shalimar Park Preschool is situated on Bunurong Country. For over 45 years we have been a community run kindergarten welcoming children within Dandenong North and the surrounding neighbourhood. We have a long standing committed team of educators that look forward to working along side your child to develop their love of learning.
Shalimar Park Preschool has a zero tolerance of child abuse. We are committed to promoting the safety and rights of children by:
- committing to supporting and respecting the safety, happiness, and empowerment of all children by fostering responsive relationships, engaging experiences and a safe and healthy environment where children can actively participate in decisions that affect their wellbeing.
- committing to the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, the cultural safety of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.
- Having rigorous policies and procedures to reduce the risk of child abuse while ensuring all new & existing committee members, staff and volunteers have a clear understanding of their duty of care.
- Taking all allegations and concerns of children’s safety seriously and responding to them in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Providing education regularly to remain up to date so all members of staff can achieve these commitments.
The Shalimar Park Preschool community acknowledge the Bunurong people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live and their continued connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to them and to elders past, present and emerging.
